PROFILE INTRODUCTION

Having practiced family law for over 24 years, and having mediated for over 21 years, I have a clear understanding of the intricacies and problems of divorce and family dynamics, as well as an appreciation for the shortcomings of the traditional litigation process in solving them. Collaborative practice affords a unique opportunity to adopt a problem-solving, forward looking approach to dealing with these issues, and my experience as an attorney, mediator, author, and professor provide me with the knowledge and skills to make good use of this remarkable tool. In recognition of my commitment and achievements, I have been selected for the 2007 and 2008 editions of 'Best Lawyers in America' in the areas of Collaborative Law, Family Law Mediation, and ADR and have been named a 2007 Missouri 'Super Lawyer' in the area of ADR. In addition, I practice in a firm with 26 attorneys whose expertise in the areas of corporate law, taxation, intellectual property, estate planning, and real estate, among others, provides invaluable resources to assist me in my representation of divorcing clients.
